Devlog 23 of 30 | Mists of other worlds

I continue to complete the challenge - a full game in 30 devlogs. Already 23! Horror, nightmare! Very little time left until early access! I hope you are ready. Because I am not ready yet. Never been so close to release! Even if it’s not a full release, it’s early access.

In this devlog I wanted to show two similar but different game mechanics. Both are related to limiting the player’s visibility.

The first option is when the player can only see a small area around the ship. The rest is covered by an impenetrable veil. Be careful! Anything can be hidden beyond the scope of view. Evil opponents, dangerous obstacles and other dangers. All this is watched by huge cosmogonous eyes, hungry for foreign ships.

The second mechanic is the opposite of the first. It, on the contrary, hides part of the playing field with dense clouds. Don’t fly at high speed in the clouds if you don’t know what’s hidden in them!

I also tried to make a new chiptune track. And put together a music video. How do you like it? Not quite what I would like to see in the game. But I’m still learning chiptune. Maybe later there will be a set of more suitable tracks.

And one more innovation. I am trying to compile the game for Linux. Unfortunately, I myself do not have the opportunity to test the game on all versions and variations of this popular OS. Therefore, I will be glad if you tell me how it is played on Linux.

Don’t forget to download the demo and leave your feedback if you find the game interesting.
